Internal Applicant Process

Who: All Mercury Marine employees looking to further their career

What: Applying for jobs within Mercury Marine

It is promising to see Mercury Marine employees looking to further their careers by applying for other positions within the company. Due to the volume of résumés received on a monthly basis, and the fact that employees do not always identify themselves as such, it is difficult to identify internal candidates.

In an effort to recognize when an internal employee applies for an open salaried position, the Recruiting Team is announcing a new procedure that goes into effect immediately for all internal applicants & hiring managers.

Internal Candidates:

  1. All internal candidates who apply for an open salaried position should contact their Recruiting Team to notify us that you have submitted your résumé via the Corporate website. Contact your local HR office for your recruitment team member.

NOTE: If the job posting indicates the hiring manager, no call to your Recruiting Team is necessary and the process skips to Step 3.

  1. The Recruiting Team will then inform you of the hiring manager.
  2. It is the responsibility of the internal applicant to contact the hiring manager, let him/her know you are interested in the open position and schedule a brief time (10-15 minutes) to discuss your qualifications and the job requirements.
  3. Employees should also inform his/her current manager when they are talking to other managers about open positions.

Hiring Managers:

Please take 10-15 minutes of your time to discuss internal candidates' qualifications as they relate to your open position. Should you feel they are a possible candidate, please inform Human Resources so we may set up a formal interview with the team.

We hope this new process will open the communication lines between employees looking to further their career and hiring managers looking for talent.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you.
